35¢ Refills
Toledo Water Conditioning gives you drinking water the family can trust, straight from the tap.
A family buying cases of bottled water since 2014 who would rather stop. A household on a well where the whole house is treated and the drinking glass still is not. A household that has read what the city supply carries and wants the drinking water handled specifically. Each one gets a system specified from the water test.
We install and service RO across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan, under the sink or mounted on a basement wall, specified after we test your water instead of off a shelf. Since 1947.
EVERYDAY RESULTS
Outcomes and Benefits of Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water
Reverse osmosis changes the one thing people notice every day.
The water tastes like nothing.
That is the point. No chlorine, no metallic edge, no reason to hold your nose or add a flavor packet.
Nobody buys bottled water out of doubt.
The reason most households start buying cases is uncertainty about what comes out of the tap. RO removes the uncertainty and the recurring cost with it.
Coffee, tea and ice change too.
Ice comes out clear instead of cloudy, and coffee tastes like the beans rather than like the water.
And cooking stops carrying the taste.
THE INSTALLATION PROCESS
The Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Installation Process
Every install follows the same sequence, and the water test decides what goes in it.
Free Water Analysis.
We test what your water carries and at what levels, because that decides the membrane and what has to sit in front of it.
System Specification.
Membrane matched to the water, pre-treatment specified as part of the build rather than as an accessory, and sizing set to your drinking and cooking demand.
Placement Assessment.
An RO can go under the sink or on the wall in the basement. We prefer the basement wall, because the filters are easier to change there and it leaves you the room back under the sink. We check that space, the cold line, the drain connection and whether a line to the refrigerator is wanted.
Installation.
Our own technicians mount the unit, tie into the cold supply, set the drain saddle, run the faucet and the fridge line if you want one, and pressurize the tank.
Startup and Flush
The membrane is flushed, the system is checked for leaks under pressure, and the water is tested at the new faucet.
Walkthrough.
We show you the shutoff, the filter locations and the replacement schedule on your water.
The finished result is drinking water you stop thinking about, at the tap you use most.
PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS
What Goes Into a Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water System
The difference between our system and a big-box RO unit is three things: certified membranes and pre-filters rather than generic cartridges, serviceable components you can get parts for in five years, and a system specified against your incoming water rather than sold as a package. You get commercial-grade components and our own technicians installing them, under your kitchen sink or on your basement wall.
Sediment pre-filter.
Protects the membrane from grit that would shorten its life.
Carbon pre-filter.
Removes chlorine, which damages the membrane material itself on municipal water.
Reverse osmosis membrane.
Does the work, removing the large majority of dissolved contaminants including PFAS.
Storage tank and dedicated faucet.
With a line to the refrigerator where the household wants one.
Post-filter.
Polishes the water on the way to the tap.
Sizing and pre-treatment matter more than the membrane.
A membrane fed untreated water plugs early regardless of its rating, which is why we specify what sits upstream before we quote the drinking water stage. On a well that means the full train first: sediment, then iron and sulfur where the test finds them, then softening.
Which configuration your home gets depends on what the water carries before it reaches the membrane, and we confirm that from a test rather than defaulting every house to one cartridge stack. That is the difference between a membrane that lasts its rated life and one that plugs in a season.
DIAGNOSE FIRST
We Specify the Whole Train, Not Just the RO
The common failure with reverse osmosis is selling the RO alone. A unit goes in, nobody looked at what was feeding it, and the membrane plugs inside a year. The homeowner concludes reverse osmosis does not work, when what actually happened is that untreated water was sent straight into the last stage of a treatment train.
That is not how we quote it. Every RO system we specify covers the sequence rather than the box: the test names what is in the water, the stages get specified in the order that protects the one after it, and the drinking tap is handled last because it depends on everything before it. Our own technicians install it, we service what we sell and other companies’ equipment, and residential single-tank systems we installed carry a 5-year parts warranty plus a 1-year labor warranty.
For you, it means the membrane is being protected by everything upstream of it rather than left to absorb whatever the house delivers. That is the difference between a system that lasts and a filter you replace twice a year.
WHERE IT APPLIES
Where Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Works Best
Reverse osmosis handles what the whole house stages are not built to remove.
Households buying bottled water they would rather stop buying.
The clearest case, and the one where the change is immediate at the kitchen tap.
City water where the concern is what the treatment plant cannot remove.
Reverse osmosis is the stage that addresses dissolved contaminants rather than taste and odor.
Wells already on whole house treatment.
The house is handled and the drinking glass is not, which is the gap reverse osmosis closes.
Not a substitute for whole house treatment.
This is the honest limit. An RO unit treats one tap, and it depends on the stages in front of it.

What Our Customers Say About Our Filtration Work
Love this place! We started coming here a few months ago & we won't go anywhere else. Probably the best price you'll find & the water is so good!
Great experience with Toledo Water Conditioning! They explained all our options for water filtration in Toledo and helped us find the perfect system for our home.
Me and my parents get our water here and the water is so refreshing. The owner and his family are so nice. I recommend going there. If you bring your own gallon water jug it's only 35 cent to fill. Way cheaper than the store
We’ve been using the system for a few months now and it’s working perfectly. No issues at all.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water
They do different jobs. Whole house filtration treats every tap and appliance. RO treats the water you drink. It is not either-or, and the standard build pairs whole-house treatment with an optional RO at the drinking tap.
Usually yes, and RO depends on it. Reverse osmosis reliability is tied to the treatment in front of it, and on well water a membrane installed without pre-treatment plugs and fails early.
It removes most dissolved solids, minerals included. Some households choose remineralization for taste. It is a decision worth making deliberately rather than discovering after installation.
Under the sink at the tap you drink and cook from, or on the wall in the basement. We prefer the basement wall, because the filters are easier to get to when they need changing and it leaves you the room back under the sink. Either way a line can be run to the refrigerator. It is point-of-use rather than point-of-entry.
It is not how we build. RO belongs at the drinking tap. Running it for showering and laundry is expensive, wasteful of water, and unnecessary for those uses.
Pre-filters and the membrane are on separate schedules, and both depend on what the water carries. On well water the pre-filter interval is shorter, and we set the schedule from your test rather than a manual.
Reverse osmosis systems we install carry a 5-year parts warranty plus 1-year labor. Membranes and pre-filters are consumables on a replacement schedule rather than warranty items.
Reverse osmosis is one of the treatments used for PFAS reduction. Whether it is the right answer for your water, and what has to sit in front of it, comes out of the test.
