Whole House Water Filtration Installer

Iron, sediment, chlorine taste and sulfur odor out before the water reaches a tap.

Toledo Water Conditioning turns water you can taste, smell or see into water you stop thinking about, at every tap in the house.

A century-old home where the sinks have been orange for as long as anybody remembers. A well outside the city line running orange every time the pump kicks on. A newer subdivision house on city water that has already scaled its second heater. Each one gets a system built from its own water test.

What goes into a water filter system for home use depends on what your water carries, which is why we test it first and build to the results instead of to a package. Serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan since 1947.

Everyday Results

Outcomes and Benefits of Whole House Water Treatment

Treated water changes things you notice and things you never think about again.

Fixtures and appliances stop paying for the water.

Faucet aerators, dishwashers, ice makers and coffee makers stop catching sediment and iron, which means fewer clogs and longer service life. Scale stops building inside the water heater, which is the single most expensive thing hard water quietly damages.

Laundry and dishes come out the way they should.

Soft water stops stiffening towels and spotting glassware, and you use noticeably less detergent to get the same result.

The staining stops.

Iron leaves orange marks on sinks, tubs and toilet tanks and on anything you wash. Once the iron is out, the marks stop coming back rather than being scrubbed off again.

The smell goes and stays gone.

Hydrogen sulfide is the rotten egg smell on well water. Treated at the source, it is gone at every tap rather than masked at one.

And the water you drink can stop being a question.

Where a household wants the drinking glass handled specifically, a dedicated reverse osmosis stage does that, and it is the reason people stop buying bottled water out of doubt about the tap.

THE INSTALLATION PROCESS

The Whole House Filtration Installation Process

Every install follows the same sequence, and the water test decides what goes in it.

01

Free Water Analysis.

We test your water and tell you exactly what is in it and at what levels, with no obligation.

02

System Specification.

The stages, the order and the size all come from the test result rather than from a package.

03

Entry Point Assessment.

We look at where the water comes in, what the existing plumbing is, and whether a drain is reachable, because that decides the day.

04

Installation.

Our own technicians cut the tie-in, plumb a bypass loop and isolation valves so the house keeps water during service, set the equipment in sequence and run the drain line with an air gap.

05

Startup and Programming.

The media is rinsed, air is worked out of the lines, and the settings are programmed to your household's water use and hardness.

06

Walkthrough.

We show you the bypass, the shutoffs and the maintenance interval, because a system nobody was taught to operate gets neglected by default.

The finished result is treated water at every tap in the house, with drinking water handled separately at the sink if you want it.

PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS

Matched to a Specific Problem the Water Test Reveals

A water filtration system for home use is not one product. It is a set of stages, each matched to something the test actually found. What separates our build from a big-box unit is three things at once: certified media rather than generic fill, industrial control valves rather than consumer timers, and a system sized to your household’s flow rate rather than to a shelf price. You get commercial-grade media, commercial-grade valves and our own technicians installing them, in your basement.

Sediment filtration.

Catches sand, silt and rust before they reach anything downstream.

Carbon filtration.

Takes the chlorine taste and smell out of city water. It wears out rather than clogging, so you replace it on a schedule instead of waiting for a sign.

Iron and sulfur filtration.

Handles the orange staining and the rotten egg smell. The iron and sulfide are dissolved in the water, so they have to be turned into particles before a filter can catch them. We oxidize with ozone, peroxide or chlorine rather than air injection, because air-injection equipment draws the surrounding air into the water along with the bacteria, viruses and mold in it.

Softening.

Ion exchange, which trades the calcium and magnesium that cause scale for a small amount of sodium. It also takes out a small amount of dissolved ferrous iron along with the hardness, though ferric iron and iron bacteria need their own stage. What you notice is that the scale stops: no more spotting on the glasses, no more film in the shower. There is a scale for this, and the water here lands in the hard range: not slightly hard, not moderately, hard.

Reverse osmosis.

A separate stage for drinking water, installed under the sink or on a basement wall, and it depends on the treatment in front of it.

Sizing matters as much as media.

An undersized system chokes the pressure and cannot treat the volume the house uses. An oversized one causes channeling, where water finds a path straight through the media without being treated. Both fail for the same reason: the system was picked before the household’s flow rate was measured.

Each system is matched to your household’s flow rate and daily water use rather than sold as a single package off a shelf. That is the difference between a build that treats the water your home actually has and equipment aimed at the wrong contaminant.

DIAGNOSE FIRST

We Test the Water Before We Recommend a System

The biggest risk in water treatment is a system specified before anybody tested the water. A company quotes off the square footage or off whatever it has in the warehouse, the equipment arrives sized for a problem the house does not have, and the smell or the staining or the taste never goes away. That is where you find out a season later that you paid for capacity you did not need, or that the system has to come back out.

That is not how we work. A free water analysis comes first, on every job. It identifies what your water actually carries and at what levels, and the stages, the order and the size all come from that result. Our own technicians install it rather than a subcontractor, so the people who read the test are the people who connect the equipment. Nick came up through this company from delivery driver to owner, and we have been doing this from Nebraska Ave since 1947 while the larger competitors run out of towns 35 to 45 minutes outside the city.

For you, it means the recommendation is traceable to a number rather than to a sales target. You get the system your water needs, sized to your home instead of oversold, and the person who specified it is the person who answers when you call about it.

Where Whole House Water Filtration Works Best

Every system we install starts with a test of your actual water, because that is what decides the stages, the order and the size. Tell us what your water is doing and we will tell you what it needs.

City water with a chlorine taste and hard-water scale.

The most common case. Carbon and softening handle both, and the drinking glass is already fine once the taste is gone.

Well water with iron staining or a sulfur smell.

Where whole house treatment does the most visible work, because the staining and the smell reach every fixture in the house.

Houses on their second or third water heater.

Scale shortens heater life, and treating the water upstream is cheaper than replacing the tank again.

Not the right answer for lead or PFAS alone.

This is the honest limit. Those are handled at the tap by reverse osmosis, not by whole house filtration.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Whole House Water Filtration

What does whole house water filtration remove?

It depends on the stages your water calls for. Sediment catches grit, carbon reduces chlorine, taste, odor and many VOCs, iron and sulfur stages handle staining and the rotten egg smell, and softening removes hardness.

Does it remove PFAS?

PFAS reduction is one of the reasons a household adds treatment, and which stage handles it depends on what the test finds. Reverse osmosis is one of the treatments used for it.

Is this for well water or city water?

Both, and they are different builds. City water here typically needs sediment, carbon and a softener. Well water needs sediment first, then iron and sulfur where present, then softening last.

How is the right system chosen?

From a test of the water at your property. The test says what is present and at what levels, and the stages, order and sizing all follow from that.

How often do filters need to be replaced?

On a well, pre-filters run from monthly to every six months depending on sediment and iron load. On city water the interval is longer and steadier.

Will whole house filtration soften hard water?

Only if a softener is part of the build. Filtration and softening are different stages, and because city water here arrives hard, softening is normally included rather than optional.

Do you service filtration systems another company installed?

Yes, including other brands, where the equipment can still be worked on. Owning a system from a company that has closed should not mean replacing it. The honest limit is that some units are obsolete, some have no parts still being made, and some store-bought units are too fragile to service at all. We will tell you which one you have before you spend anything.

Is the system under warranty?

Residential single-tank softener systems and reverse osmosis systems we install carry a 5-year parts warranty plus 1-year labor. Filters and media are consumables on a replacement schedule rather than warranty items.
